REMOVING JEWELLERY DURING LESSONS

This term we have had multiple pupils coming into lesson with jewellery on, which poses a risk of injury as well as a risk of losing the item in the water. Additionally, we cannot be responsible for any loss or damage, if a child decides to remove their jewellery it will be up to the child or parent to then collect at the end of the lesson.

STAFF CHANGES NEXT TERM

Noeleen will gradually be taking a step back from the swim school as she has embarked on her new role in a school. Noeleen has been a great asset to the swim school for over 10 years and we wish her the best of luck and happiness in all that she pursues. She will continue to teach on Sundays next term and Shannon will take over her teaching on Tuesdays.

We will be welcoming a lovely new member of staff. Ava is a competitive swimmer and a fully qualified teacher. She will be working alongside Louise on Tuesday evenings.

NO SHOE ZONE IN THE CHANGING AREA

We have noticed a high level of dirt and mud in the changing area which is then is walked into the poolside area and pool causing contamination within the pool. As of next term there will be a shoe bench placed at the entrance of the pool making the changing area a ‘no shoe zone’. We want to ensure a good level of cleanliness for all users, particularly for the vulnerable and disabled users. It is a charity funded pool and the entire cleaning is done by the Kingfisher staff. Please help us maintain this facility by placing shoes on the shoe bench or putting shoe covers on prior to entering the changing rooms. Thank you for your understanding and co operation.

ASTHMA PUMPS

If your child suffers with asthma please can they have their inhaler either in their changing bags in the changing room or with the parent. We cannot be responsible for inhalers on poolside.

NO PHONE ZONE

Can we please remind you that the pool building is now a no phone zone. During the watching weeks (or if you are within the pool at any time) please ensure that, if you need to use your phone to go outside of the pool building. During the time you are within the pool your phones should be kept out of sight either within a pocket or bag. At no time should you video or take photos within the pool building. This complies with the child protection policy.

PARKING

As you are all aware we have had to close the gates to the playground on the weekends due to several incidents in the school playground. May I ask customers who park in the playground on the weekdays to park considerably for all users. Our staff members car will be parked horizontally to block off the turf to prevent further damage. We will continue to monitor this situation and I thank you for your support.

BADGES & CERTIFICATES

Over the next couple of weeks, all pupils will be working towards awards available within the level of their class. If you wish to purchase certificates, then please go to the desk (after enrolment week), and we can order them for you. Certificates do have to be paid for in advance as we print them. The cost of a badge and certificate is £3.50.

SIBLINGS IN A LATER SESSION

Many have siblings who’s lessons follows on from each other. Please can you not leave your child unattended at the pool as it poses a distraction to the other children and we cannot be responsible for your child whilst focusing on the lessons.

FUN WEEK

The last week of term is fun week, and your child may come along to any of the sessions listed below on the half hour. No pupil will be able to join in midway between sessions. We adhere to a maximum bather load of 35 pupils. When this is reached, any pupil that arrives after will be asked to wait until the next session (this doesn’t happen very often).

Please note that the earliest times tend to be the busiest.

The times are as follows:

Sun 7th December. 1st session 9am last session 9.30am
